Four Steps to Combat College Stress

Four Steps to Combat College Stress

You're back to school and trying to balance exams, papers and projects. Meanwhile, the cafeteria food has you homesick for some good cooking, and your roommate's pile of clothes is oozing into your side of the room.

If college stress is more than you can handle, take these tips offered by CyberWize.com, maker of Vital StressX, a supplement designed to help the body cope with stress:

* Get organized. When your work space and schedule are organized, the rest of your life becomes better organized. Take time to sort your papers into files by subject, putting your books on a bookshelf and clearing your desktop every day. Next, get an organizer or PDA and start putting due dates and social activities on the calendar.

* Discuss any problems with your professors or an adviser. Take advantage of the knowledge your adviser has in helping you manage your schedule and combat any problems you are having with certain subjects.

* Maintain a balanced lifestyle. It's important to eat, sleep, and exercise regularly. Eat breakfast, lunch and dinner, and carry light snacks with you to maintain your energy throughout the day. Aim for eight hours of sleep each night, and exercise for 30 minutes at least three times a week.

* Supplement your routine. Studies have shown some all-natural supplements, such as Vital StressX, can be beneficial in the fight against stress. Vital StressX contains a combination of seven herbs, known as adaptogens, that have been shown in clinical trials to control the production of excess amounts of cortisol. These adaptogens were discovered by Soviet scientists nearly half a century ago and are believed to help your body adapt to stressful conditions, boost energy and endurance, and help sharpen your memory and alertness.

“Vital StressX facilitates focus and concentration, reducing stress and promoting success,” said Dr. Robert D'Amico, a specialist in osteopathic medicine in Tarpon Springs, Fla.

Treatments that offer hope to hair loss sufferers

Treatments that offer hope to hair loss sufferers

Many people experiencing premature hair loss simply resign themselves to a process that is as inevitable as growing old. This is a positive and healthy reaction to what is a natural process for many. But for others the onset of premature balding or excessive hair loss represents a traumatic development that causes untold worry and suffering. This too is a legitimate reaction regardless of whether the hair loss is caused by hereditary factors or some other more complex cause.

Should these sufferers just grin and bear it? No, they should not because there are a number of potentially effective treatments they could utilize, depending on the nature of their hair loss. In this article I will outline some of the most popular hair loss treatments currently available in order to reinforce the fact that hair loss can be treated. The next article in the series will look closely at the treatment regimes best suited to specific ailments such as alopecia areata and telogen effluvium.

At present only two medications have been approved as hair loss treatments by the FDA. These are minoxidil, better known as Rogaine, and finasteride, better known as Propecia. Several other drugs have proven to be effective in combating hair loss, dutasteride for example, but have not yet been approved for this particular use.

Finasteride was originally developed to treat enlarged prostate conditions but a low dose version was subsequently approved for the treatment of hair loss in men. It tackles the causes of male pattern baldness by preventing the conversion of 5-alpha-reductase into DHT. Given that DHT is the main male hormone linked to hair loss, reducing its production by two thirds has a major impact on controlling this type of baldness.

Research has shown that 83% of men studied were able to maintain their hair count and 64% experienced regrowth by the end of a two year period. It should be noted that finasteride is approved for use by men only as the drug can have serious effects on unborn male fetuses. Women should therefore only consider using this drug under the strict supervision of a physician.

Dutasteride (Avodart) is a new medication for use in treating prostate conditions and, although not yet approved for the treatment of hair loss, it does offer exciting possibilities. It works in a similar way to finasteride but reputedly reduces overall DHT production by over 93%. As is the case with finasteride, women should consult their physician before using dutasteride.

Minoxidil (Rogaine) is the other hair loss treatment approved by the FDA and it is the only anti-baldness drug approved for women. Applied topically, its main benefit is its ability to stimulate regrowth thus reversing the effects of pattern baldness. Many users combine the application of minoxidil with other hair loss treatments like Propecia to achieve maximal results, but others experience satisfactory outcomes using minoxidil on its own.

Several studies have shown that certain non-drug products promote hair regrowth but none have yet been approved by the FDA. This is partly due to the prohibitive costs involved in conducting trials to prove that the products are effective for the purpose of marketing them as hair loss treatments. Many individuals and dermatologists nonetheless recommend use of certain non-drug treatments as an alternative or complement to drug therapy.

In many instances the treatments are based on natural ingredients that stimulate similar responses to those of the prescribed drugs but without the side effects. The information provided here presents a sample of products that have been subjected to testing or at least have had their effectiveness supported by independent feedback.

One such product is Arcon Tisane which has become Europe's top selling natural supplement for hair loss. It comes as a capsule and sub-lingual spray containing saw palmetto and fenugreek stimulating a response similar to that of finasteride by inhibiting the production of DHT. Arcon Tisane has been clinically tested and has received widespread media coverage of its success in combating hair loss.

Calosol is a relatively new product aimed at helping alopecia areata sufferers. It consists of a shampoo and an accelerator applied daily in order to stimulate hair roots, reduce hair loss and promote healthy hair. Early indications suggest that Calosol can contribute significantly to easing this distressing and difficult to treat condition.

Fabao 101 is a treatment that comes in varying formats, each designed to tackle a particular form of hair loss. The common factor to each product is their derivation from natural plant sources. It was developed by a dermatologist and has received many international awards.

Folligen copper peptide products are designed to help create an environment that improves scalp health, reduces hair loss and stimulates hair regrowth. It can be used by both men and women. Studies at over 30 leading universities and medical research institutes have established the effectiveness of the technology utilized in Folligen products.

Tricomin is another treatment that targets the delivery of copper to the base of the hair follicle and it too has been clinically proven as an effective treatment for stopping hair loss and stimulating regrowth. It can be used safely with other hair loss treatments and can be especially useful in complementing the effects of finasteride and minoxidil.

Revivogen is an all-natural hair loss treatment that reduces DHT production, blocks the androgen receptors and stimulates hair growth. It is used topically and has no known side effects.

Shen Min is another natural hair loss treatment designed to restore and regrow all types and stages of hair loss. It is safe for both men and women. Shen Min contains a blend of Chinese herbs and comes in various forms to suit most people.

ThymuSkin was developed by German scientists to fight hair loss in patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment. Due to the high success rates the product was developed for use by the general public to combat all types of hair loss. Clinical studies conducted in Europe show that ThymuSkin hair loss treatments could help to stop baldness and regrow hair for 67% of men and 95% of women.

Hopefully this article has demonstrated that many treatment options are available to hair loss sufferers. The next article in this series will develop the theme further by examining the treatment regimes that have proven effective in tackling specific forms of hair loss such as androgenetic alopecia, alopecia areata and telogen effluvium.

Weight Loss With The Help Of Green Tea

Weight Loss With The Help Of Green Tea

Weight Loss – Green Tea Benefit

Over the past few years, green tea and its connection with weight loss has long been the center of various clinical studies. Positive effects of green tea on weight loss have been discovered in recent years.

Studies show that the relation between green tea and weight loss are substantially linked together through the plant’s thermogenic properties. Thermogenesis is the process by which the body produces heat by speeding up metabolism, burning calories, and breaking down fat. Certain substances in green tea are believed to help in the body’s thermogenesis, thus contributing to weight loss.

Weight Loss in Other Herbs

Other than green tea, there are other natural herbs that contribute to weight loss. Gugulipid for instance has been shown to augment the metabolic rate of the body and help with thermogenesis, thus leading to weight loss. Gugulipid has also been reported as a catalyst for lowering down cholesterol levels.

Another herb that aids in weight loss is Maitaki. Derived from a Japanese plant, Maitaki helps promote weight loss by targeting the liver, which is a major digestive part of the body.

Maximizing Weight Loss Benefits in Green Tea

A standardized weight loss herbal extract of pure green tea is needed in order to maximize the weight loss benefits of green tea. The market offers several green tea weight loss products that do not use standardized extract. These non-standardized green tea weight loss products are cheaper but do not contain enough active green tea substances to have any significant weight loss benefits.

Scientists and traditional herbalists believe that better weight loss results are achieved when green tea is used in conjunction with other weight loss herbs and with other nutrients. So before buying a green tea weight loss product, it is advisable that you choose a product that contains a rich blend of green tea herbs, minerals and nutrient that aid in weight loss.

Green tea when combined with ginger and olive leaf helps lower cholesterol and promotes weight loss. Green tea helps stop blood vessel constriction while CoQ 10 protects the heart and ensure blood pressure levels. By mixing green tea with CoQ 10, you will not only achieve maximum weight loss but you will also be able maintain the health of several body systems at one time.

The Ideal Green Tea Weight Loss Product

The first thing to make sure of when buying green tea products is to see if the manufacturer of the green tea extract follows strict GMP compliance, the manufacturing standard used throughout the world. Having GMP approval in green tea products assures you that you are getting a product of the highest quality.

Under the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994, herbal products such as green tea are considered dietary supplements. This means that the success or effectiveness of these products do not have any guarantees. Companies or manufacturers that claim 100% success in their green tea products are doing false advertising and should not be patronized.

For assurance that you’re getting your money’s worth when you buy a green tea product, find a product that is using standardized green tea extract. Look for strict GMP compliance and make sure that the manufacturer of the green tea product has all the proper credentials in product formulation.

All of these forms have different symptoms and require testing by your physician for an accurate diagnosis. Here are some of the symptoms and differences between Rheumatoid Arthritis and Osteoarthritis.

Rheumatoid Arthritis is a systematic disease and it often affects other organs in the body, and not just joints.

The symptoms of Rheumatoid Arthritis often appear, and then enter a state of remission. There is no proven reason as to the exact cause of Rheumatoid Arthritis, however it has been suspected that bacteria, fungi, and infections may cause it. There has also been evidence that Rheumatoid Arthritis is a hereditary condition. Other forms of arthritis, such as rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis, are caused by auto immune responses. Whatever form of arthritis you have, the following tips will help you cope with them.

Take your medication like you are supposed to. Many arthritis sufferers will only take their medication if they are in pain, and forget it later. This is detrimental to your body, because you are actually trying to prevent these attacks from happening. Set a daily reminder, and take your medication on a strict schedule.

Do not be afraid to consider surgery. Many people who suffer with arthritis will initially balk at the thought of having surgery done to correct an issue. Let your doctor coach you on what may be the best method of treatment for you, and if surgery is an effective option, try not to immediately dismiss it.

Omega 3s can help reduce the risks of arthritis. Omega 3s can be found in fish and oils. Make sure you include them in your diet, or take a supplement if you need to. This should prevent your arthritis from spreading and perhaps even reduce the pain you currently have.

Just because there is no cure for arthritis doesn't mean you can't find relief from the pain. Be sure to pay close attention to your doctor's advice regarding diet, exercise, supplements and pain relievers. By remaining pro-active in your treatment plan you can overcome a great deal of the pain and debilitation of arthritis.

If you are planning on traveling and have arthritis, please be sure to get a good night of sleep the night before your trip. If you are well rested, it will allow your bones and joints to work more smoothly and allow for an easier trip. You won't notice the pain as much if your body has had a well rested night of sleep.

Arthritis is becoming more and more common! If you notice that you have pain, swelling, or stiffness around your joints, it is important that you see your doctor right away! This could be a sign of arthritis, and if that is the case, you want treatment to begin as soon as possible. Make sure, you also, ask your doctor what kind of arthritis it is. This will be helpful when getting the proper treatment!

Plan your day smartly. You need to do things when you have the energy to do them, and when your pain is low. Don't plan a busy day if your arthritis seems to bother you often. Listen to your body, and don't try to push it harder than it wants to go.

As stated before in the introduction for this article, arthritis can come in many forms. Osteoarthritis is a common form that results from age, infection, or trauma, while rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis are auto immune forms. Use the tips from the article above to help you with any form of arthritis you may be suffering from.

Teething is the process of new teeth emerging from underneath the gums. This occurs for people at many different stages in life. Very few infants are born with any teeth. During the first year most babies will get several of them. Older children teeth as well when they start getting their back molars. Around the age of 18 or so adults will begin to get their wisdom teeth coming in.

Many animals such as puppies also teeth so if you notice your pet not eating well that could be the cause of it. This can also result in them chewing on anything they can get access to. It is important to keep dangerous items out of their reach. You also want to keep things such as your shoes where they can’t chew on them either.

The teething process is different for each person. Some children go to be happy and then wait up with a new tooth. For others it can be days of a fever, having a hard time chewing, and even feeling sick to their stomach. You can give children and adults various types of remedies to help relief the pain.

It may taste bad for a while but soon the relief will be there. The area may be tender for several days as the tooth is trying to emerge from it. Do your best to keep your mouth clean.
